My path to becoming a health coach and therapist was shaped by life’s challenges — and the lessons they carried.
Growing up, I saw firsthand how anxiety and unspoken struggles can deeply affect a person’s life. My mother, a hardworking and caring woman who once served as a postal worker during the Korean Conflict, later faced significant anxiety that kept her at home. Her experience opened my eyes to the importance of understanding and supporting mental health.
In my adult life, I faced my own trials — including years in an abusive relationship that I eventually found the strength to leave in order to protect myself and my children. Along the way, I also navigated my eldest son’s diagnoses of temporal lobe epilepsy and a severe, persistent mental illness. These experiences were difficult, but they became powerful teachers, instilling in me deep empathy, resilience, and a passion for helping others find their own strength.
Today, I use the wisdom I gained through these chapters of my life to guide and support others on their healing journeys. I believe that while we can’t always choose our circumstances, we can choose how we grow from them — and we can find light, even in the darkest places.
